Self and Emerson
Genius is 'To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men.' "Man is his own star" the first line from Emerson's Self- Reliance. His essay reflects "for nonconformity the world whips you with its displeasure". Though we see, he says that society never advances. It recedes as fast on one side as it gains on the other. The civilized man has built a coach, but has lost the use of his feet. And this is as true as the human beings. And to refine the first line he says "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string". Again he says "Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles".
